Health and Safety Representative (RSS)

WHAT IS THE ROLE OF THE RSS?

Health and safety representatives (RSS) perform the following tasks on construction sites:

1. Ensure the health and safety of workers on site.
2. Make recommendations where necessary.

WHAT ARE THE CRITERIA FOR BECOMING AN RSS?

• You must be a journeyman or labourer (with at least 10,000 hours registered with the CCQ, or 10 years of experience in construction);
• You must not have a criminal record;
• You must hold a valid CCQ card;
• You must be a member of CSD Construction.
