To maintain solid strength and nerves of steel, construction workers get 4 weeks of paid vacation and paid holidays. When sites close for breaks, it’s time to recharge your battery and spend quality time with your family and friends.
Here are the dates of the construction holiday weeks and paid holidays as defined in the 2025-2029 collective agreements:
Paid Holidays 2026
- Fête nationale (St.Jean Baptiste Day): June 24, 2026
- Canada Day : July, 3 2026
- Labour Day: September 7, 2026
- Thanksgiving Day: October 12, 2026
- Remembrance Day : November 13, 2026
Summer construction holidays: July 19, 2026 until August 1, 2026 at midnight.
Weeks of the winter construction holiday: December 20 2026 until January 2, 2027, at midnight.
Paid Holidays 2027
- Holy Friday : March 26, 2027
- Easter Monday : March 29, 2027
- Patriots’ Day : May 24, 2027
- Fête nationale (St.Jean Baptiste Day): June 24, 2026
- Canada Day : July 2, 2027
- Labour Day: September 6, 2027
- Thanksgiving Day: October 11, 2027
- Remembrance Day : November 12, 2027

- Holy Friday: March 30, 2029
- Easter Monday: April 2, 2029
The dates of statutory holidays past April 2029 will be published once the new collective agreements will be negociated.
When do you receive your vacation pay?
Every month, employers transfer the amounts for annual mandatory holidays and sick leave set out in the collective agreements to the CCQ. It represents 13% of the pay workers earn each workweek.
Amounts for vacations and holidays are paid at the end of the months of June and November.
