This morning, we welcomed the Honourable Randy Boissoneault, Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Official Languages, in CSD\u2019s Quebec City offices to launch the federally funded CSD Initiative for Women Apprentices<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Patrick Cyr, CSD Construction\u2019s Treasurer, Carl Dufour, CSD Construction\u2019s President, Daniel Sen\u00e9cal, CSD Construction Union Representative, and Alexandra Marier, elected CSD Construction representative and painter, took the floor. Three women apprentices from the construction industry were also on hand to mark the launch. TVA and LCN covered the story. You can watch their broadcast today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To improve retention, CSD Construction has developed an innovative program that offers coaching, guidance, training and financial support, while combating psychological and sexual harassment. We know that retaining women workers in the industry requires training and workplace support. Our project will promote recruitment, induction, integration and job retention of women apprentices in the construction trades. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWomen are increasingly present on construction sites, reaching a record number of about 7,500 women workers in Quebec in 2023. However, almost 60% of them will have left the industry within five years. To improve retention, CSD Construction has developed an innovative program that offers coaching, guidance, training and financial support, while combating psychological and sexual harassment.
