Working to prevent construction work accidents and occupational diseases<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Preventing work accidents and occupational diseases on construction sites is one of CSD Construction’s priorities. We work together with workers and our many stakeholders to identify and eliminate risks of workplace accidents and occupational diseases. What’s our goal? To make construction sites secure workplaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exercise your right to work safely<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

You have the right to work in a a safe environment. If you believe that your safety is at risk, you can refuse to perform a task.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To do that, you need to advise your boss and your union rep. Then you’ll work together to correct the situation to make sure you’re safe. If you can’t come to an understanding, the CNESST inspector will make the final decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don’t worry. Exercising your right to refuse unsafe work won’t cause you any financial losses, disciplinary measures or prejudice. It’s a right recognized by the CNESST. That said, you can’t exercise your right of refusal if refusing puts another person’s life or safety in danger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are many resources available to construction workers who want to take charge of their heath or who are experiencing physical or mental health issues.
