Between the language barrier and their foreign worker status, these people are all too often trapped in precarious living conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CSD Construction wants to make sure that foreign workers get decent working and living conditions as well as opportunities for professional development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Protecting foreign workers<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Temporary foreign workers who have closed work permits have to stay employed by the same employer the whole time they&#8217;re in Canada. With the labour shortage it&#8217;s becoming more and more common for foreign workers to work illegally on construction sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Without competency certificates or training, their health and safety at work is at higher risk.
